Raised relief is combined with genuine 22K or 24K gold, coloured glass, semi-precious stones, and precious stones when desired. The Thanjavur tradition emerged from South India’s temple culture, where devotional images were given distinctive radiance through raised work, gold, rich pigments, precious stones, and gem-like glass or ornament on prepared wooden panels. Its splendour comes from the discipline of many hand-worked layers.
Tri-Lotus chooses each composition for the clarity of its relief, balance, detail, and luminous presence. As light moves across the gold, the work gives a room a quiet sense of ceremony, creating a compelling focal point that carries the artistic language of Thanjavur into a contemporary interior.
Each painting begins with its setting, wall scale, viewing distance, subject, and desired rasa. The palette, relief, gold work, ornament, and frame are then shaped into a one-of-a-kind heirloom with a presence that belongs to that particular space.

- Frame wood is selected and checked for seasoning and pest condition. Glass or acrylic glazing and hanging hardware follow the painting size, finished weight, and destination.
- Display and Hanging
- Final framed dimensions and weight guide wall anchors and hanging points. Display indoors, away from persistent damp, direct heat, and prolonged harsh sunlight.
- Care
- Dust the frame and glazing gently with a clean, dry, soft cloth. Keep water, sprays, solvents, and abrasive cleaners away from the painted and gilded surface.
